Except where noted, all were over-struck on genuine US Mint Oregon Trail Commemorative silver half dollars (circa 1926-1939).

 

The US Mint produced Oregon Trail commemorative half dollars from 1926-1939. But several years were skipped, including 1927.

 

NOTE: These are NOT endorsed by the US Treasury. Defacing of US coins is legal so long as the defacement isn't for fraudulent purposes.

 

Current Status:

All production has ended. The dies have been totally defaced and scrapped. Final mintage total for all types combined: 62.

First produced March 2012.
Over-struck on genuine US Mint Oregon Train Commemorative silver half dollars, circa 1926-1939. All have satiny-matte luster. The last 10 struck show a small rim die dent above head. The last one was struck on a 23.85-gram partial Saint Gaudens $20 Double Eagle coin (.900 fine gold). It has medal-turn orientation and a die crack through bow to the rim at 9:00.
