“1917-D” Barber Dime – Production Blog

All are over-struck on genuine US Mint Barber Dimes (circa 1892-1916), unless otherwise noted.
A few were broad-struck and/or multiply struck with moderate shift between strikes.

The last year for the minting of Barber Dimes was 1916. Part way through the year, the coin was replaced by the new Winged Liberty Head (“Mercury”) Dime.

NOTE: These are NOT endorsed by the US Treasury. Defacing of US coins is legal so long as the defacement isn't for fraudulent purposes.
