“1944-P”, “1945” Roosevelt Dime – Production Blog

All are over-struck on genuine US Mint Roosevelt silver dimes (circa 1946-1964), unless otherwise noted.
A few were broad-struck and/or multiply struck with moderate shift between strikes.

President Roosevelt died while in office in 1945. The first Roosevelt Dimes were minted in 1946.

NOTE:

Many of the small certificates that came with the coins indicates that they were over-struck on silver Roosevelt Dimes dated 1945 through 1946. That is not correct. All over-strikes were done on coins dated 1946 through 1964.

NOTE: These are NOT endorsed by the US Treasury. Defacing of US coins is legal so long as the defacement isn't for fraudulent purposes.
